Hi Owen / Pat, would you be able to do a short video on the routine in selecting key list stocks daily. I am sure the original list at the start of the day must be at least 500 stocks.

I'll talk with Pat about this.  He might go into detail about how he scans each afternoon/evening.  I talked with him an hour after the close yesterday; he said he had just finished his scans and combined the list which totaled 175 stocks.  He said he was going to get a glass of tea and go through those charts.  The man is a machine.

This gives an idea of how do you come up with a key list. Good question and answer.

This is very helpful. I’m also a MarketSmith subscriber, and there is also some nuance to the variables used to make up each screen. For example eliminating stocks with <$20 million/day in volume is a common filter recommended by folks such as Chris Gessel. Also our Meetup Organizer here in Denver, Kathy Donnelly, co-author of the LifeCycle Trade, uses this filter. Any additional clarity on some of the other filters used within the screens would be helpful for those of us who are regular MarketSmith users. MarketSmith has the Growth 250, Mike Webster has his recommended screens, and there is also the 1 month and 5 month Minervini templates. You are taking a better approach by narrowing down the universe of stocks to below 200. Much more manageable.
