Methods in bear market?

You really hammer home the basics for long trades during a bull market, and while I found the cheerleading a little cheeky at first, it's grown on me. My question is do you set aside during a bear market (someday it will come), trade long what is working, or go short? Any examples would be appreciated, thx, Tim
