A Successful Investor Must Have Patience

In the video, I talk about the importance of patience for investors. I use baseball as an analogy to explain my investment philosophy.

Just like a baseball player needs to be patient and wait for the right pitch, investors need to be patient and wait for the right investment opportunity. I give the example of a young baseball player named Max Scherzer, who I coached many years ago. Scherzer was a talented player, but he was also very patient. He never got discouraged when he didn’t get to play, and he always worked hard to improve his skills. Eventually, his patience paid off, and he became one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball

The same is true for investing. Investors need to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to invest. They can’t just jump into the market whenever they see a stock go up. They need to do their research and make sure that the investment is a good fit for their portfolio.

It’s also important to be prepared when the right opportunity does come along. Investors need to have a plan in place so that they can act quickly when they see a good stock.

Patience is one of the most important traits that investors can have. If investors are patient and prepared, they will be more likely to succeed in the long run.

Here are some specific examples from the video:

  • Scherzer was always patient and never got discouraged when he didn’t get to play.
  • Scherzer’s patience paid off, and he eventually became a successful baseball player.
  • I use Scherzer’s story as an analogy to explain the importance of patience for investors.
  • Investors need to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to invest.
  • Investors also need to be prepared when the right opportunity does come along.
