After Market Volume & the Difference between Moving Averages on Daily vs Weekly Charts

Hi Pat, First of all, thank you for your dedication and commitment to education. You clearly value the work you do and aim to make a difference for your student. I had two questions that I hoped you could answer. 1) When reading a daily chart, does after-market volume get captured in the following day? I'm looking at the daily NFLX chart (click here for SharpChart link) and wondering what the best way to read the volume the day after earnings. On my first read, I interpreted it as a positive sign that volume increased with an increase in price signaling that there was high demand for shares at the lower price, but now I'm questioning whether that volume is from after hours trading which could change the way I would interpret it. 2) Why does the moving average change when viewing a daily or weekly chart? I thought the moving average, say the 20 day for example, would stay the same since it's based on number of days. I believe that the closing prices that are used to calculate the moving average would be different on the weekly which would cause the calculation to be different but hoped you could explain or point me to material that would help. Thank you again and I hope you're enjoying the time off. Best, Alex
