Have you ever been through a big market crash and what did you do?

Hi Pat - I went through the big market crash of 2008 and lost a great deal of capital.  I'm fearing that may be upon us again in the next year or so (We just had a big one from October 2018-December 2018 as well.  My question to you is 1.) How do you detect the crash is happening (or not). a.) I can't detect a crash, that is impossible, b.) I easily detect big crashes by following market macro indicators, or other reports., c.) other 2.) How do you trade a big crash?  a.) Don't trade it at all because I'm only bullish (cash is king), b.) Trade inverse ETF's and 3x ETF's because they have charts I can analyze too, c.) other.
