making longer term investments

Pat thank you for answering my question yesterday about how a new member might get into some of the winning stocks. I'm also wondering again for a new subscriber how you might coach regarding determining how much of your total investible dollars to put into more long term positions.  and how do you mange those differently than the quicker positions Finally if a trade gets away from you what's the best way to try and recover?
