Hi Pat,
Being organized, efficient and keeping distractions to a minimum is important during the trading day. Would you be willing to share what you have found over the years to be a good setup in terms of office, computer/monitors and software setup.
Specifically:
1.) Do you trade from a home office or do you have a separate office away from home and home-related distractions where you can focus and in isolation?
2.) What have you found to work well in terms of number of monitors? There are some ridiculous setups (at least to me) I have seen where some traders use 6 or more monitors. It seems that 2 to maybe 3 (maximum) would be plenty enough, any more and it is just information overload and becomes confusing (better to keep it simple).
3.) Can you share some screenshots of how you have your software setup and what you're looking at on your computer/monitors during the trading day? How do you have your Interactive Brokers screen/monitor setup and how do you have your Ensign screen/monitor setup? How do you move through the Key List charts? Do you have them setup as thumbnails on one screen so you can monitor them all at the same time and pick ones to expand and focus in on if/when you see price or volume moving? Do you set up hotkeys to move through the charts and between different time frames?
4.) Anything else you think would be beneficial in terms of being organized, efficient and helpful in managing accounts and positions?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Regards,
GaryG
