Hi Pat,
I hope you are well.
I had a question re the importance of volume on a breakout. I know you say we need to see volume on a breakout to buy - we drop it down to the 60 min or 30 min or 10 min to look for volume through the pivot.
It seems that volume is always highest on any stock in the first part of the day (eg first 30 mins) and the end of the day (eg last 30 mins). This being so, if a stock breaks out any other time of the day, it may well not have heavy volume but does that really mean that the breakout is not buyable?
Minervini says he looks at volume in the base pattern rather than the volume on the breakout itself - he only ever looks at the daily charts and not intraday charts. I seem to recall that Mike Webster on a training webinar he did with you said that volume is less important than it used to be.
Cheers
Simon
